Modoc County, Calif. — Police say a missing Alturas woman was found dead inside a burning home Tuesday evening.
The woman has been identified as 59-year-old Pamela Johnson, who worked at Modoc County Health Services.
Investigators say Robert Allen Vogee may have set fire to his own home with Johnson inside.
Police say Vogee then took drugs and alcohol, and locked himself in a closet.
Vogee was rescued, and taken to a hospital.
Modoc County District Attorney Jordan Funk says Vogee is expected to survive, and will face charges.
