Concert delivers big proceeds

Central Point, Ore. — The group looking to build a replica of the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall got a huge donation on Friday.

The Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe presented a check worth $66,889.30 on Friday to Southern Oregon Veterans Benefits.

It’s the proceeds from the Kenny Rogers concert held last month at The Expo.

“Being a Vietnam veteran is really a part of being able to remember those you have served with,” Robert VanNorman said, Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe.

The Medford City Council agreed to lease the group land at US Cellular Park to build the wall. The total cost is estimated at a $500,000 – so their fundraising continues.
