Ore. — The Rogue Valley is holding several events in honor of all our nation’s armed forces on Veterans Day.
Here are some of the day’s events and freebies at several nationwide restaurants:
- A commemoration ceremony at the Oregon Fallen War Heroes Memorial at Don Jones City Park in Central Point at 9 a.m.
- The Rogue Valley symphonic band will play at a ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center in White City.
- The Medford Veterans Day Parade will travel along Main Street from Hawthorne Park to Oakdale starting at 11 a.m.
- And the Josephine County Veteran Service Office will provide a free lunch to veterans at the Josephine County Court House in Grants Pass from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Veterans Day Celebration by White City Department of Veterans Affairs at 8495 Crater Lake Highway, White City. The event begins at 10 a.m.- 12 p.m.
- In Eagle Point, a ceremonial walk will take place down Main Street at 10:45 a.m. A formal ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Veterans Park.
- Klamath Falls parade will begin on Spring Street and end at the Veterans Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. A ceremony is scheduled after the parade.
- Free lunch for veterans & their families at VFW Post 1383 at 12:00 p.m., 515 Klamath Avenue.
- Sizzler is providing a free lunch to active military personnel and veterans. Be sure to bring your proof of military service anytime before 4:00 p.m.
- Free car wash at Crater Car Wash for all veterans and military service personnel. Address: 3012 Crater Lake Highway, Medford.
- The US Air Force Boeing KC-97 static display aircraft which was built
in 1952 will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m. There is no charge. It is located just off Biddle Road and Cirrus Drive. A handicap elevator is available. - Wayback Burgers is offering a free Wayback classic cheeseburger with the purchase of any side and any drink at its locations nationwide, to all active and former personnel.
- Applebee’s is offering a free Applebee’s Signature Entree.
- Denny’s: Free Grand Slam breakfast.
- Little Caesars: Free $5 Hot-n-Ready lunch combo.
- Olive Garden: Free meal from special menu.
- Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and beverage.
- Sizzler: Free lunch and beverage.
- Texas Roadhouse: Free Lunch.
- Starbucks: Free tall brewed coffee fort all vets, active duty, and spouses.
