Gold Hill residents look to their past with annual Gold Dust Day

Gold Hill, Ore. –Residents in Gold Hill took a step back in time to honor their pioneer roots Saturday.

The annual Gold Dust Day took place in on Main street.

The event started with a fun run, and then a parade through downtown.

Organizers say it’s a fun way to look back at the history of the town and see where it’s going in the future.

Dennis Powers of the Gold Hill Historical Society lauds, “It’s developed over the years, various personalities have always been here. From mayors and senators and things like that, so it’s part of the richness of our valley, this great valley we live in.”

“I think it’s pretty fun. The cars are fun to see around here,” commented spectator Jarret Benno

The event has been going for nearly 80 years.
