Annual Toy Run set to end, will continue under new name

Medford, Ore. — An update to a story NBC5 brought you in September. Two businesses are working together to carry on an annual toy run that was set to end.

For 23 years Gene and Lori Nelson coordinated the Rogue Valley Toy Run on the first Saturday of every December. In September they announced the 2015 run would be their last. but the folks at Thunderstruck Custom Bikes and Star Body Works have partnered to keep the event going.

“To see a kid go into Christmas or something without a toy just doesn’t work for me,” owner Mark Daley of Thunderstruck Custom Bikes says, “and I know it doesn’t work for a lot of these other guys too because last year we had record attendance.”

It’ll be the same concept just under a new name: Southern Oregon Toy Run. For more information click HERE.
