Ashland Police rescue deer that was stuck in a tree

Ashland, Ore. – Police helped to free a deer stuck in between two branches of a tree in Ashland

According to Ashland Police, the deer became trapped on Wednesday. An image posted on the Ashland Police Department’s Facebook page shows the deer wedged in between two large branches.

Officers say they came up with a way to free the deer by using a hydraulic jack to spread the branches apart.

APD says that when deer come into urban environments, it often ends badly for the deer. Luckily, this story had a happy ending.

NBC5 News previously reported that the City of Ashland recently put up signs around town in an attempt to address the town’s growing deer population. The signs warn visitors and residents if they’re caught feeding wild animals around town, there is the potential to get a $435 fine.
