Grants Pass, Ore. — A Josephine County woman has been sentenced to 180 days in jail or other custodial programs after she was found guilty of animal abuse. Kandi Crow will likely spend 40 days behind bars with the remainder of the time up to the Josephine County Supervisory Authority. The Josephine County D.A.’s Office pushed for a considerably longer sentence.
The 65-year-old has already been convicted twice on similar charges.
While a judge found her guilty on the misdemeanors in April of 2016, she was ruled not guilty on felony charges.
In 2012, officers found the Cave Junction woman with 257 animals living on her property. At that time she was convicted on 44 counts of second degree animal abuse.
