Kalamazoo, Mich. (NBC News) — Five bicyclists were killed and four more were hurt Tuesday evening when they were hit by a truck near Kalamazoo, Michigan.
According to witnesses the driver of a blue Chevrolet truck was driving erratically when he struck the group of cyclists.
Five were pronounced dead the scene. The injured were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
The vehicle’s driver fled on foot after the crash, then was found a short distance away and taken into police custody.
