Coquille Tribe says Gov. Kate Brown doesn’t support plan for Medford casino

Salem, Ore. – Oregon Governor Kate Brown may not be in support of a proposed casino in Medford.

The Coquille Tribe says the Governor called the Tribal Chairperson saying she would oppose plans for the Cedars at Bear Creek Casino.

A letter will be sent to the Bureau of Indian Affairs next week.

Back in July, Jackson County Commissioners approved an inter-governmental agreement, giving them a voice during the environmental impact statement study. Since the study has yet to be released, the tribe expressed their disappointment in Gov. Kat Brown’s decision.
