East Coast weather impacts air travel

AIRPORT ADDS FLIGHTS

Medford, Ore. — Airports across the country reporting delays and cancellations, as the East Coast deals with a wallop of a winter storm. In Medford, there were a few delays for planes going in and out of bigger airports but no cancellations.

Airport Director Bern Case says as many as 50 people travel from Medford to the East Coast on a regular basis, and says they may have had issues when arriving at their next connection. His advice for anyone traveling during the winter, leave extra time.

“When you plan your itinerary leave a little extra cushion in it don’t try to make a 30 minute transfer in a large airport give yourself an hour or so if you can,” Case says.

The Portland International Airport had about a dozen cancelled flights. Travelers are encouraged to check their itineraries over the next 24 hours.
