Elderly Grants Pass woman reported missing

0509 missing womanUpdate (05/10 3:00 p.m.) — Detectives said that Doris Cova’s van was located Tuesday morning at Hog Creek boat ramp. The Grants Pass Department of Public safety said Doris was presumed to be drowned in the Rogue River. Josephine County Sheriff’s Marine Deputies area currently searching for Cova downstream from Hog Creek.

Grants Pass, Ore. – A 77-year-old woman has been reported missing after her family arrived at her home for a scheduled visit, only to find her gone.

The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety said that Doris Cova was last seen by an employee of Video Mart on Saturday.

Police said that family members arrived on Monday for a visit, but Cova was not at home. Her white 2007 Chrysler Town and County minivan, Oregon plate # 094DDF, was also missing.

According to officers, Cova is an outdoors enthusiast and enjoys hiking in the forests around Grants Pass.
