Donations pour in for Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy

Medford, Ore. — People all over the nation are coming to the aid of a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy who’s in the fight of his life.

In just three days more than $14,200 have poured in for Deputy Noah Strohmeyer and his family. The 10-year veteran of the sheriff’s office was hospitalized last week for what they thought was pneumonia, that turned out to be congestive heart failure.

Strohmeyer was put in a medically induced coma, but family friend Patricia Landfair said his condition is improving.

“He has been taken off life support and he’s breathing on his own so it’s small steps in the right direction,” Landfair said. “He’s not out of the woods yet, it’s going to be a while.”

Landfair said Strohmeyer is a father to three young kids, a devoted husband, and a highly respected public servant. She created a gofundme page to help with the family’s medical bills. In just three days the page has been shared 1,300 times and raised more than $14,200.

Landfair is also gathering all types of gift cards for the family, whether it be for groceries or meals out. Those can be left at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office on Crater Lake Highway. ‘Get well’ cards for Strohmeyer can also be dropped off at the sheriff’s office.
