First of three SOU presidential candidates announced

Ashland, Ore. – The search for a new president of Southern Oregon University has been whittled down to three people.

SOU said the first of the three finalists, Dr. Michael Tidwell, will come to Southern Oregon to meet with SOU constituent groups and the public. Tidwell is scheduled to visit the SOU campuses on May 25^th and 26^th.

A public forum will be held at 3:30 p.m. on May 25^th in Room 151 of the Science Building on SOU’s Ashland campus.

According to SOU, Tidwell is currently the Dean of College of Business at Eastern Michigan University. He previously held various education positions including Dean of the College of Business at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, assistant Dean for the School of Business at Clayton State University, and numerous faculty appointments.

The names of the other two finalists are not being released at this time. Instead, the school is choosing to release them approximately 24-hours before each candidate visits on the following dates; June 1st and 2nd, and June 2nd and 3rd.
