Food 4 Less robbery suspect in custody

0928-brian-jermaineMedford, Ore. – Police responded a reported robbery at the Medford Food 4 Less around 9:10 Tuesday night.

According to Medford Police, employees noticed a man concealing merchandise in his clothes. He then went to the checkout with additional items and purchased them, without paying for the concealed items.

Police said once the man was out of the store, an employee confronted him. The suspect tried to run, but he was grabbed and taken to the ground by the employee. During the struggle, the suspect told the employee he had a gun.

MPD said the suspect was able to break free and pointed a handgun at the employee before he fled in his car onto Morrow Road. The employee was not injured.

Officers shared images from surveillance video of the suspect on Facebook and quickly received several credible tips. Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 30-year-old Brian Jermain. He was taken into custody at his home in the 23000 block of Highway 62.

Jermain was booked in the Jackson County Jail on three counts of menacing and two counts of robbery.
