UCC asking community to spread “Random Acts of Kindness”

Roseburg, Ore. — Umpqua Community College is asking the community to spread “Random Acts of Kindness” in honor of the victims of the UCC shooting.

The anniversary of the shooting is Saturday. The college says the acts of kindness can range from a nice word, to smiling at strangers or offering a meal to someone who needs one.

The school hopes the program will serve as a reminder there is good, even in dark times.

Oregon Senator Ron Wyden remembered the victims of the shootings Wednesday on the senate floor and recommitted his support.
