Munich, Germany — German police said Friday they have closed off an area around a large shopping center in Munich after shots were fired there.
NBC News reports a police spokesperson told CNBC that nine are dead, and investigators are trying to determine of one of the dead is a suspect.

Police said they have responding to the vicinity of the Olympia Shopping Center in large numbers.
Munich police told NBC News the situation is “over.”
“We are operating on the premise of a terrorist attack,” Munich police spokesman Marcus da Gloria Martins said in a press conference. Martins added police were looking for as many as three suspects, but there has been contradictions as to the exact number.
Local German media outlets are reporting that Munich police confirmed multiple deaths in shopping center shooting.
