Eugene, Ore.- Search and rescue crews are looking for two Grants Pass hikers missing in Lane County.

According to the Register-Guard, the two men, both 27, left with two dogs on Nov. 29. The hikers planned a five day trip, but the men failed to show up for a food stop in Douglas County Sunday.

Family members alerted authorities, and crews began searching along the hikers’ route Tuesday.

The men had planned to begin their hike at McCredie Springs on the Southern Pacific Cascade Line and follow along Hills Creek into Douglas County.

Lane County crews plan to continue looking for the hikers Wednesday with help from the National Guard.
