Grants Pass man facing child sex abuse charges

Three Rivers School District has confirmed that 47-year-old Van Len Granger is a fifth grade teacher at Manzanita Elementary School in Grants Pass. He has been placed on administrative leave.

Grants Pass, Ore — A Grants Pass man is in jail tonight facing charges of sexual abuse of a 12-year-old boy in Josephine County.

Oregon State Police arrested 47-year-old Van Len Granger after receiving a report from the Department of Human Services about possible sex abuse.

According to police, Granger worked with the child as a teacher and mentor through the ‘Options Wrap Around Program’ from January of 2015 through December.

Options representatives tell NBC5 news that Granger was not an employee, volunteer or mentor for the wrap around program.

Granger is in Jackson County jail facing charges of sex abuse in the first degree and sodomy in the second degree as well as pending charges out of Douglas County.
