Grants Pass, Ore. – The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety said officers responded to a reported suspicious item in the 1600 block of Kellenbeck Avenue in Grants Pass around 11:00 Friday morning.
Police said and officer found a device next to the Applegate House with suspicious wires and items attached to it. The officer immediately evacuated Applegate House and nearby homes. The Oregon State Police Bomb Disposal Unit was called to the scene to assist.
According to GPDPS, OSP troopers used a robot to destroy the device, which was later determined to be a hoax destructive device. Nobody was injured in the incident.
