Human remains found near Klamath Falls

Klamath County, Ore. – According to Oregon State Police, officers received a report of a skull that was found in a private wooded area west of the city of Klamath Falls on November 4th. Multiple OSP units responded and verified the skull was indeed human, and was not an ancient artifact.

Police said after the skull was found, investigators  learned that on August 28, 2014, a black Dodge Challenger that belonged to missing person Brett T. Farmer was found abandoned in the same area. Farmer was last seen carrying a .22-caliber Ruger pistol and a particular type of knife.

OSP said in the following days after the skull was discovered, search and rescue teams searched the area in hopes of locating more remains. They found multiple human remains and clothing along with a .22-caliber Ruger pistol, a knife and two Dodge key fobs.

Police are still investigating, and are awaiting official autopsy results to positively identify the deceased person, as well as the manner and cause of death. No more information will be released until investigators learn more details.
