Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies investigating crash involving motorcycle, car

IMG954471Update (05/17 6:30 p.m.) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said the motorcyclist involved in a crash with a car on Peninger Road in Central Point has died as a result of his injuries.

The identity of the motorcyclist will be released following the notification of his next of kin.

No citations were issued at the scene, and deputies will continue the investigation.

Update (05/17 4:25 p.m.) — Deputies said a passenger car was traveling northbound on Peninger Road when a motorcycle pulled out from a side road in front of the car. The car struck the motorcycle, resulting in major injuries to the man driving the motorcycle.

Two women who were in the car at the time of the accident were not injured.

Central Point, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that took place Tuesday afternoon in Central Point.

Deputies closed Peninger Road near the Jackson County Expo to allow for an investigation.

According to deputies, the crash involved a passenger car and a motorcycle. At least one person was reportedly injured.
