Jackson County, Ore. — Longtime political insider and Southern Oregon University staple Jay Mullen has died.
The school says he passed away Saturday after suffering a heart attack last week.
After serving as a CIA agent in Africa, Mullen came to the Rogue Valley where he got involved in politics – he even served as a political commentator here at NBC5.
In recent years he also began teaching history at SOU.
