Local community shows support for Orlando shooting victims

Ashland, Ore. — The LGBT community in Southern Oregon is encouraging locals to come together in solidarity after the tragic mass shooting in Orlando, Florida.

Gina Duquenne, the founder and president of Southern Oregon Pride said she’s  terribly saddened by the senseless act of violence in Orlando,  “One day it will be a better world. We’ve come so far and we have such a long way to go. So if I were to say anything it would be to hold on to hope.”

Southern Oregon Pride has organized a vigil that will take place in Ashland’s plaza Monday night at 6:30 in honor of those lives lost.
