24th Annual Grape Stomp

Visitors at Weisinger Winery in Ashland got a chance to help in the wine making process, with their feet.

Four stompers participated in the 24th annual Grape Stomp this afternoon.

Spectators cheer those participating.

Eric Weisenger, who is the owner of the winery, says it’s something fun for the whole family and just became an annual tradition.

“Celebrating the beginning of the harvest season, and a way to bring the public in and have a little bit of fun stomping grapes the old fashioned way.”

“It was great, it was a nice challenge. The grapes felt really smooth, and it was fun with the energy. We grew up on ‘I Love Lucy’ and we had to have a Lucy moment.”

The winnersmade two wine bottles full of grape juice faster then the rest.
