Alberta town bans swearing, yelling and spitting

Alberta, Canada — Swearing, screaming and spitting are now illegal in an Alberta town.

Council members in Taber have passed bylaws outlawing what is usually considered just bad behavior.

The first offense for foul language would cost $150, a second offense could set you back $250.

Some residents are arguing the new laws are illegal, the mayor also says he is confident the new laws are legal and it will be up to the discretion of officers to decide when to issue a ticket.
