Another hit for Kairos, former employee accused of having sex with teen

Grants Pass, Ore. –A former employee at Kairos, a youth treatment center in Grants Pass, is accused of having sex with a teen in their care.

The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety announced today, April 30th, that they’ve arrested 30-year-old Jessica Morton for having sex with a teen at the facility.

They say Morton, a skills coach supervisor, had sex with the now 18-year-old boy as far back as last spring, when he was 17.

Shes charged with several counts of sexual misconduct and sex abuse.

Kairos officials tells NBC5 News that Morton was put on administrative leave when the allegations first surface in May of 2014. She hasn’t been in their facility since then.

it was a few weeks ago that former Kairos counselors DeWayne Sandle-Carnell and Sonia Leamons were fired and arrested after Sandle-Carnell allegedly had sex with a 17-year-old female patient at the facility, Leamons is accused of encouraging the act.

The Department of Human Services and the Oregon Health Authority are now looking into the facility.

DHS representatives tell NBC5 news that they have licensing, certification and regulatory oversight of the facility.
