Ashland tests Hosler Dam flood warning sirens

Ashland, Ore. — If you live in Ashland and hear sirens, be ready to evacuate, and fast! To hear the sound of the siren, check out the video to the left.

Ashland tested it’s sirens Monday for the Hosler Dam.

It’s above Lithia Park at Reeder Reservoir, Ashland’s main water source.

The city does the test quarterly because, should the large dam break, Ashland would flood.

If the city ever needed to use the siren for a real emergency, Ashland Public Works officials said residents would only have eight minutes to evacuate.
