Billboard: “God loves gays”

Topeka, Kan. — (KSNT) A billboard unveiled Monday in Topeka, Kansas is causing some controversy.

It’s taunting a local church with the message “God Loves Gays.”

The message is aimed at the notorious Westboro Baptist Church, known for protesting the funerals of soldiers and celebrities across the nation.

“You know there is only one reason why that billboard’s in Topeka, and that’s because of the truthful Bible preaching, that emanates from this evil city, from Westboro Baptist Church,” says Westboro Elder Steve Drain.

The sign was paid for by GodLovesGayPeople.com.

Westboro Baptist leaders say they plan to put up a sign of their own with a counter-message.

The billboard is expected to be up for six months, with the possibility of being renewed for another six months after that.
