Bybee Historic Inn

It was built around 1856 by William Bybee and this house on Oregon street in Jacksonville still stands today. Now it hosts guests from across the world, as a bed and breakfast Owner Tina Flaherty says “We fell in love with this house..it’s unique and so elegant”

The Bybee Inn hasn’t lost any of it’s historic charm, the period furniture invites you in to finish that long lost manuscript…or perhaps on a special night you can even live the history. Tina says “we do dinners where we dress up as the characters we researched and become the characters…” Tina and her cousin Vikki have done more than role play as pioneers, the two have rolled up their sleeves and done the remodeling work themselves. She says ” It was a lot of work the projects, putting on the porch, the fireplace and redoing a room from top to bottom” I explored the grounds and could not find a place with a bad view everywhere you look you see the rolling country hills and mountain wilderness that make Jacksonville so famous. Tina says “I love the grounds…they are so awesome”

that is why the Bybee’s settled here in the late 1800’s and why people still travel here today.
