Costco looking to move to new location in Central Point

Medford, Ore. — No longer planning to build a new warehouse in Medford, Costco is now exploring a potential location in Central Point.

The city’s Community Development Director Tom Humphrey says the big box giant is looking at Federal Way near Table Rock Road, between the airport and the Expo.

“It could have a positive ripple effect on our economy here and the desirability of the properties in the immediate vicinity of this one,” Humphrey said.

The new location is an 18 acre field.

Costco has outgrown their current Highway 62 location and earlier this year scrapped plans to build a new warehouse off South Pacific Highway near Trader Joe’s.

The company did not return emails seeking comment.
