Dangerous dog ordinance

Medford, Ore. — The Medford City Council looked at a new ordinance proposal addressing so-called dangerous dogs in Medford.

Police Chief Tim George presented details of the ordinance which touched on potential fines, and procedures related to dogs being off their leash or causing fear of physical injury to another person.

For the time being, MPD has teamed up with a local vendor to make leashes to hand people if they don’t have them.

Another revised draft of the ordinance is expected to be presented to the city council in coming weeks.
