Daughter of a Gresham woman killed by a drunk driver speaks out

Gresham, Ore. — The daughter of a Gresham woman killed by a drunk driver is speaking out.

Linda Luty believes her mother’s killer is getting off easy. Jonathan Flesey is the drunk driver who crashed into Kimberly Stockwell while she was bicycling, killing the Gresham mother, then speeding away from the scene.

Linda Luty, “He served six years for killing my mom, which isn’t enough in my eyes, it isn’t enough in a lot of people’s eyes.”

On top of that, just last August Flesey was arrested again for drunk driving after police caught him swerving past pedestrians.

Prosecutors wanted to send Flesey back to prison for up to two years, but the judge only gave him 90 days in jail and a DUII intensive supervision program.

Flesey will be allowed to serve his 90-day jail sentence on weekends, Luty worries the judge has shown mercy to a dangerous man who still hasn’t learned his lesson.
