Talent, Ore. — Over 100 people hit the pavement in Talent for lost loved ones today.
The Dia De Los Muertos run started at 9:00 and ended with a party complete with a mariachi band, dancing, and authentic Mexican food.
The Mexican holiday focuses on celebrating life, not mourning death, with the help of those around you.
“Instead of being alone in your loss you have a whole community and family who helps you remember that loved one,” organizer Chela Sanchez said.
The event was put on by a group of friends with the help of Unete and the city of Talent. This is the first year for the event, but organizers say they hope to continue it.
