Driver cited with DUII & Assault after I-5 Crash

ASHLAND, ORE. — (UPDATE 8/16 9:20am) Oregon State Police have charged the driver of a single vehicle rollover on Saturday with DUII and assault.

Investigators confirm thatMichele A. Roux-Mantoancrossed the center median, rolled, and landed in the fast lane of the southbound side.

Roux-Mantoan and 3 children, ages 1-10, were in the vehicle and transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center.

Two of the children suffered serious injuries, one was later transported to OHSU in Portland.

“The one year old was properly secured in a rear-facing child seat and did not received any serious injuries from the crash,” said a press release issued Sunday morning.

Roux-Mantoan was cited and released for DUII, Assault II and two counts of Assault III.

(Original, 8/15 8:30pm) –Traffic is back to normal tonight after a single vehicle roll over on I-5 Saturday evening.

It happened near milepost 16 in Ashland.

A driver heading northbound, somehow crossed the center median, rolled, and landed in the fast lane of the southbound side.

3 people were taken to the hospital, according to OSP.

The extent of their injuries isn’t known.

It’s unclear what caused the crash.

OSP is asking for anyone who witnessed events leading up to or witnessed the crash to call the Southern Command Center at (541) 664-4600.
