Birmingham, Ala.–Troubling events took place over social media in Alabama and Wisconsin over the weekend. Police in Alabama say for several weeks, a group of teens fought on Facebook.

On Friday night in a Birmingham Park, their online argument became physical. Investigators say that during the fight, two boys pulled out guns and started shooting.

The shots injured two girls and killed a 14 year-old. Diamond Davis, an acquaintance of the victim, states, “She was a good person. She, she never had any trouble. She was never in anything. She was a good person. She liked to help people.”

Birmingham Police arrested two teenage boys. Herman Henderson, President of “Stop the Violence”, weighed in on the fatal incident,”This is senseless. Where are they getting the guns from Where are they learning to be so violent at a young age”

Also on Friday, across the country in Wausau, Wisconsin, police say 10 students got into a fight on social media.

Police say one group then drove to a house, got out of the car and started shooting a b-b gun at another group on a porch. The fight escalated, resulting in one boy getting stabbed in the back twice, resulting in his death. He was 13-years-old.

Detective Greg Hagenbucher, from the Wausau Police Department, was as perplexed as the rest of the community, stating, “It surprises me that 13, 14, 15 year old kids would be carrying a bb gun and knives and want to harm each other.”

Police in both cities say the fatal fights started on Facebook.

In the Wisconsin case, the 15-year-old suspect is being held at a juvenile facility. He’s set to appear in court this week and could be charged as an adult with first degree reckless homicide. Police say the fight may be gang-related.
