White City, Or –The rape of a 16-year-old girl sent shockwaves through the White City community, but now a Facebook Group is looking to restore some sense of safety to the family affected.
With the help of a friend from the family, Derek Noble, an administrator for the Jackson County Scanner Group Facebook page posted a request for donations.
The girl’s bed and clothes had been taken by detectives as part of the investigation.
Noble’s post drew the attention of hundreds and before long even local businesses like SOS Alarm were stepping up to help the family.
“Within two hours we had an outpouring of almost too much stuff coming in to us,” said Noble.

A drop off point for donations (Gift Cards preferred) has been established at Bobbio’s Pizza in Medford and Central Point.
