Federal Grant Given to the Oregon Health Plan

Oregon’s Health Plan reform is receiving a $45 million dollar federal grant to support spreading the reform to other sectors.

The new grant was awarded by the Federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation.

The money will be used to reform the coverage of other health plans, including Medicare and state employee plans.

Governor Kitzhaber said he hopes to eventually include public school teachers and state workers into the new model.
