A fire destroyed a home in Bonanza Early this morning.
There’s not much left saving inside this Bonanza home. The fire was called in by a neighbor…
“My sister-in-law called me, and said there was a big fire in a trailer across the street, and she said the people were moving out as far as she knew.” Noted Ed Earley of Bonanza.
Bonanza Fire Chief Bob Tyree says that renter Sandra Smith was in the process of moving out of the house…
“I guess there was a little question about people being evicted last night – and the fire started this morning.”
Assistant Fire Chief Glennise Tyree was one of the first on scene. “We got the call at about 7:06 this morning. I came down and there was flames coming out the front – I opened the back door to yell, no answer.”
A quick response allowed firefighters to gain control of the fire in a short time. Chief Tyree says that investigators have been called in to find the exact cause of the fire…
“Right at the moment it’s undetermined. But I have a lot of suspicion – it looked like maybe there was a heater in the front room, and it started around the heater.” Tyree added that the home and contents were damaged beyond repair. “Belongings and property value, maybe $10,000 I would say.”
There were no injuries.
The property is owned by a California resident. Chief Tyree says that the renter was not insured for any losses from the fire.
