Four arrested after gang related drive-by shooting

White City, Ore. — Four suspected gang members are in jail Wednesday night after a fight and a raid in White City.

The suspects were involved in a drive-by shooting earlier this month. No one was hurt in the shooting, but a house was hit several times.

Police say three of the four suspects were arrested after a gang fight Tuesday night. The fourth person was arrested after a police raided four homes Wednesday morning.

The busts were carried out by Medford Police, Jackson County Sheriffs Department, and Medford Area Drug Gang Enforcement Team.

“It’s a good group effort attacking gang violence and the issues that are surrounding the valley,” Medford Police Lieutenant Brett Johnson said.

Police said all four suspects have ties to the Sureos gang. They’re hoping the raids send a clear message to all criminals.

“We’ve had some drive by shootings and we have some folks who don’t seem to get the message and so today we’re sending them that message,” Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winters said. “It isn’t going to be tolerated out here.”

Police said there are multiple facets to each search warrant so they will be investigated individually. Even though some of the crimes may be related.
