Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Klamath Falls Police Department is under new management.
David Henslee was sworn in as Klamath Falls Police Chief by Mayor Todd Kellstrom Monday, before a large crowd of officers, family, and friends.
Henslee, who’s been a police officer for more than 20 years, credits a college counselor for steering him towards law enforcement…
“I explained to her some things that were really important to me, like public service, and being a leader in the community, and those types of things – and she encouraged me to be a police officer. The rest is history.”
Henslee most recently served as a captain in the Corvallis Police Department.
Klamath Falls City Manager Nathan Cherpeski says he’s optimistic about Henslee’s future with the department…
“He’s somebody who can bring a lot of the same vision for the community that I have, and I think the department will thrive under Mister Henslee.”
Henslee was hired last month, coming out on top in a field of 44 interested applicants.
The chief position was previously held by James Hunter, who retired in January after 26 years with the city.
