House party beating

Aptos, Calif. — An Aptos, California house party spiraled out of control when more than a hundred teenagers showed up, underage teens drank alcohol, and violence broke out.

At 11 p.m., neighbor Michael Mora, 71, went to the house and told the teenagers that they had to move their cars because they were blocking driveways.

While he was reasoning with the teens, Mora’s family said, one of the teenagers viciously attacked the elderly man while he was in the house’s driveway. Mora was “sucker punched” in the back of the head and shoved down an embankment, witnesses said.

A teenager ran to Mora’s house and told his wife that someone was attacking her husband. Mora was found with a bloody face, broken glasses, and two broken arms.

When arriving to the hospital, doctors discovered that Mora’s brain was bleeding and swelling so he had to undergo brain surgery. As of Monday he was listed in serious but stable condition.

There have been no arrests made in this case. Investigators have showed Mora a photo lineup. Anyone who was at the party and has any additional information are asked to contact the Sheriff’s office.
