Josephine County man facing prison after abusing his stepson

Josephine County, Ore. — A Josephine County man convicted of attacking his 2-year-old stepson faces more than seven years in prison.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier reports a toddler suffered ruptured veins in his the skull after 34-year-old Damien Gulick apparently kneed him in the head.

The attack was apparently provoked when the toddler switched on the television, causing lights in the kitchen to flicker where Gulick was working.

As a result the boy sufferers from a wandering eye and sustained a head scar.

Gulick’s lawyers said he suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and had a blackout, or “dissociative episode.” He faces seven and a half years in prison. A sentencing date hasn’t been set.
