Portland nanny pleaded not guilty to leaving kids in hot car

Portland, Ore. — A nanny in Portland accused of leaving a toddler and one month-old baby in a minivan while she visited a tanning salon has pleaded not guilty before a Multnomah County judge.

Temperatures were in the 80s on May 14th when a witness noticed the children and called police.

As first reported in the Oregonian, a probable cause affidavit says 23-year-old Kristin Jones of Oregon City left the salon as the officer was removing the children.

Jones was indicted on seven charges, including Child Neglect, Criminal Mistreatment and Reckless Endangerment.
