Josephine County voters to decide on marijuana tax

Marijuana TaxesJosephine County, Ore. — Josephine County voters will have the final say on whether recreational marijuana will be taxed in November.

“The voters will have the option of either approving this by voting yes or turning it down by voting no, if they approve it, the 3 percent tax would be on the books and charged after that,” said Wally Hicks from the Josephine County Legal Council.

Commissioners amended the ordinance to send revenue to law enforcement as well as public health, education and treatment for marijuana.
