Klamath Falls water tests ‘clear’ for lead, copper

kf water imageKlamath Falls, Ore. – Water Division officials in Klamath Falls say there’s little evidence to suggest there’s any lead or copper contamination in city water supplies.

Water Division Manager Randy Travis says he’s been checking city records closely…

“We have never found any lead service lines, lead pigtails, or any evidence of such anywhere in our water system to the best of my knowledge.”

Travis says Klamath Falls city water also has a neutral P.H., and low temperature – which results in low corrosion to water lines.

Recent tests have shown lead at .6 parts per billion in Klamath Falls water, while the E.P.A. allows up to 15 parts per billion.
