Larson’s closes up shop this weekend

Medford, Ore. — After 69 years, Larson’s Home Furnishings, a family run business through three generations, will close it’s doors on Sunday.

Al and Scottie Larson first opened up the store as an appliance repair shop in 1945 along Main street.

It has since grown to two buildings connected by a sky bridge, at the corner of Tenth and Fir.

Troy Larson, son of current owner Bruce Larson, says his dad is ready to retire.

“We loved retail. My dad loves the valley. In general, the people here. So, in that regard it’s sad, but it’s good to see him retire. He’s been working 7 days a week, his entire career,” Larson said.

The store will be open from 9-6 on Sunday.

They do have a close out sale with items at or below market value.
