Leg room argument diverts flight

Boston, Mass. — (WHDH) An alleged fight over an airplane’s reclining seats landed a Paris man in front of a judge in Massachusetts earlier this week.

Edmund Alexandre was arrested while on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Paris.

The plane was diverted to Boston’s Logan International Airport after Massachusetts State Police say Alexandre became angry after the passenger in front of him reclined her seat.

“The lady sitting in front of my client, and he’s a very tall man he’s over 6 feet tall, the lady put her seat all the way back and it was hurting his knees,” said Janet Macnab, Alexandre’s attorney.

She says he asked the woman to give him room.

“He didn’t touch anybody, he didn’t assault anybody this was a situation where he had a right to complain,” Macnab said.
