Medford, Ore.– A local non-profit that helps teens struggling with suicidal thoughts, bullying, and other issuesopened up an art gallery Saturday.
The paintings are created by those in the program.
Dozens of art pieces are now available to buy at the Life Art gallery in Medford located on 8th and Grape Street.
Phil Ortega, the program director says it’s all about helping the kids.
“The art is really a way for kids to work on a project to build trust, so they can discuss the complex issues in their lives. So we believe by making kids work on a project in close area is healthy for them.”
LifeArt and OnTrack, an addiction recovery organization, teamed up to open up the shop.
A$225,000 grant from Providence Hospital will keep the gallery fortwo years.
