Man arrested after sexually assaulting a woman in the shower

Corvallis, Ore. — An Oregon is man accused of breaking into a home near Oregon State University and sexually assaulting a woman in the shower.

Police say 22-year-old Ronald Vaughan entered one of these apartments on Wednesday and walked into the bathroom where a woman — he did not know — was taking a shower.

They say he took off his clothes, got into the shower, sexually assaulted her and then left.

Police say he left his cell phone behind, helping police to quickly track him down.

Neighbors are shocked by what happened.

“That’s the worst thing that you could do to somebody. I mean I can’t imagine how that girl is going to feel for the rest of her life. It’s not forgivable,” said neighbor Kyle Duyck.

Vaughan was arraigned in court on Thursday. The District Attorney’s Office says he entered eight homes on Wednesday – all with the intention of raping someone.

Police say during the sexual assault – the victim had multiple roommates home – but they were on a different floor of the townhouse.
