Man pulls out airsoft gun on female at Medford Post Office parking lot

Medford, Ore.– A trip to the West Medford Post Office turned frightening for a female victim. She was parked in her car when just before 10 A.M.Scott Wayne Chitwood pulled out a gun on her.

He took her keys and she started screaming so Medford Police said Chitwood took off running down 12th Street.

MPD said Chitwood was located underneath the 9th Street foot bridge where they found an airsoft gun on him.

“You really can’t even tell the difference unless you were to hold it and manipulate it. And we’ve seen these types of weapons being used in these types of crimes to proport as a real gun,” said Lt. Mike Budreau.

A male witness saw what was happening and tried to stop Chitwood but he got away.

MPD said Chitwood had two warrants out for his arrest and will still be charged with armed robbery in the second degreeeven thoughthe gun was fake.
